Kelly Luscombe's Studio: Noe Valley

Summer 2001 Classes for Young Artists will be posted when available...
The Summer Classes for Young Artists are divided into two weeks of different specialties: Sculpture Week and Drawing and Painting Week. Students will meet for two hours daily (younger students)  and 2.5 hours daily (older students) for the entire week to intensively build their artistic skills while producing art works of creativity and inspiration. Students have the option of continuing projects if both sessions are taken, combining techniques from various artistic processes. Class size limited.   
  
Sculpture Week June 19 - 23
Explorations in various 3-D (three-dimensional) art media, among others, wood, clay, wire and found object sculpture will be pursued with varying emphasis on different age levels. Transforming old books through collage techniques and box art will also be presented. All Materials included. (Limited class size) $140/week

Session A  -  Ages 8 - 11   9:30 - 11:30 am  
Session B  - Ages 11-15   1:00pm - 3:30 pm  

Drawing and Painting Week  June 26 - 30
Explorations in 2-D (two-dimensional) art media in its myriad of forms (drawing, painting, printmaking, collage and mixed media) will be pursued with varying emphasis on different age levels. Drawing from a live model will also be included. All Materials included.(Limited class size) $140/week

Session A  -  Ages 8 - 11   9:30 - 11:30 a.m.  
Session B  - Ages 11-15   1:00pm - 3:30pm

Kelly Luscombe paints in oil and acrylic on canvas and wooden constructions in a provocative, narrative style using figures and iconic objects as inspiration.  She obtained a B.A. in Art/Painting from San Francisco State in addition to Art and Art History studies at the University of London, England, and her works have been exhibited nationally and internationally in solo and group shows. Ms. Luscombe is an experienced instructor, having taught for over 15 years at the San Francisco Day School, M. H. De Young Museum and the San Francisco Public Schools. This fall, her illustrations will be published by Simon & Schuster in a mother-daughter book collaboration entitled “The Art of the Table.” She is the founder of Gallery Luscombe located on 24th St. in San Francisco’s Mission District, which exhibits local and national, emerging and established artists.
